Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for managing and supervising all daily accounting activities associated with residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely financial reports, including month-end and year-end closing processes, to accurately reflect the financial status of residential projects.
  • Project Budgeting: Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, collaborating closely with the Financial Controller to ensure alignment with organizational financial objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the development and maintenance of proforma statements and reforecasting activities, providing precise financial projections and analysis.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members across departments to gather necessary information, resolve issues, and ensure cohesive and efficient financial operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between actual results and budgeted or forecasted amounts.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized and thorough documentation of all financial transactions and reports for easy access and retrieval during audits and reviews.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management to support decision-making processes.
  • Team Guidance: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Requirements
  • Education: A University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or similar.
  • Experience: 4+ years of Accounting experience in the real estate development or construction industry.
  • Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) would be advantageous.
  • Language: Professional working proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Availability: Ability to work on-site 5 days a week.
  • Leadership: Experience managing direct reports.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Quickbooks & Excel.
