Business development at Wealthsimple revolves around serving our clients and assisting a generation of Canadians in achieving their financial aspirations.

In a financial services landscape dominated by a few major banks, which impose high fees and provide inadequate service to clients with less than $3 million in net worth, we recognize the need for change. Furthermore, over $2 trillion in assets are held within the Wealth Management sector, with a significant portion invested at high costs and yielding poor returns. We believe it is time for a new approach for Canadians.


In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Lead and inspire a team of Business Development Representatives focused on growth through outreach to both new and existing clients.
  • Take ownership of your team's quotas, metrics, and performance, optimizing for sales funnel conversion, lead response time, and pipeline management.
  • Analyze reports to identify insights that will enhance team performance.
  • Conduct call reviews and provide coaching to individual team members on their sales techniques and workflows.
  • Share best practices across the team to promote collaboration and a supportive work environment.
  • Advocate for the client and BDR experience by identifying challenges and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Work closely with Product and Marketing teams on 'playtests' to discover new insights and growth channels.
Skills and experience we are seeking:
  • Client-focused - Always prioritize the client.
  • People Management - Over 2 years of experience leading and achieving results through B2B or B2C sales teams.
  • Technology - Proficient in utilizing Salesforce, Gong, and Salesloft tools.
  • Analytical - Skilled in identifying opportunities and bright spots through data analysis.
  • Resourcefulness - Proven ability to persevere in challenging situations.
  • Adaptability - Comfortable with rapidly changing priorities and directions; maintain a positive attitude and adaptability to evolving business objectives.
  • Goal-oriented - Experience and enthusiasm for working diligently towards achieving goals.
  • Strong communication - Proficient in persuasive writing and effective communication at all levels.
  • Self-starter - Proactively address needs as they arise.
  • Bonus: Experience in a fast-paced startup environment (preferably in tech or finance) and completion of IFIC or CSC.
