Position Overview

The Engineering Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the hotel. As the Facilities Operations Manager, you will be tasked with the upkeep and repair of the hotel's infrastructure, adhering to the standards set forth by Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge in terms of quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and safety, all while maintaining a welcoming demeanor.

In this role, you will oversee significant mechanical systems, implement preventative maintenance strategies, manage the physical condition of guest rooms, and lead a team within the engineering division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and sustain a cohesive and effective team.
  • Ensure that all assigned tasks are executed promptly and meet the highest quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain operational equipment to optimal standards while prioritizing safety.
  • Engage with reputable and quality-focused suppliers.
  • Identify and set organizational priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in departmental processes through regular performance assessments.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates will be considered for this position if they possess the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a progressively responsible role.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and maintenance operations.
  • Relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline is advantageous.
  • 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Willingness to reside onsite in staff accommodations.
