About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our Nordic Spa facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all spa facilities, including the pool, water chemistry, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including chemical levels and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead and motivate a team of maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped to handle maintenance tasks and respond to emergencies.
  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure they are within budgeted parameters.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary certification or degree in a relevant field (e.g. facilities management, engineering, hospitality).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a facilities management role, preferably in a hospitality or spa environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new systems and processes.

Working Conditions

This is a fast-paced environment with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A high level of physical fitness is required, as the role involves spending a lot of time on their feet and performing manual tasks.
