About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our Nordic Spa facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all spa facilities, including the pool, water chemistry, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Lead a team of maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure the safe storage and use of chemicals and other hazardous materials.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary certification or degree in a relevant field (e.g. facilities management, engineering, hospitality).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a facilities management role, preferably in a hospitality or spa environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and open to new learning.
  • Safety certifications an asset.
  • Experience with commercial pool operation preferred.

This is a fast-paced environment with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and will be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
