Position Overview:

As a key member of our Inventory Finance division, you will oversee the effective management of the Canadian portfolio for commercial floorplan dealers and vendor partners within the truck, trailer, construction, and specialty vehicle sectors. The Portfolio Manager is expected to deliver exceptional service while ensuring meticulous portfolio oversight. This role emphasizes risk management and collections, serving as a direct representative of the organization. You will also coordinate the inventory inspection process and act as the primary liaison with auditors, including reviewing and analyzing findings and discrepancies. Additionally, the Portfolio Manager will manage the collection of all broker accounts, encompassing principal, interest, discounts, and terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to dealer and manufacturer partners, addressing operational issues and inquiries effectively.
  • Engage with dealers and manufacturers via phone and email to manage all facets of account administration and customer support.
  • Serve as the main contact for the ongoing inventory inspection process conducted by an audit provider, leading the reconciliation of inspection outcomes with dealers, identifying concerns, and ensuring accurate collateral status in the Wholesale system.
  • Drive collection efforts and portfolio management with a consistent operational rhythm, initiating contact with delinquent dealers to resolve issues and secure payments.
  • Utilize the Wholesale system to document all dealer-related activities, communications, and correspondence promptly.
  • Gather and forward necessary documentation for requests to modify curtailments and maturities to the Credit team.
  • Work closely with the Funding & Operations Manager to achieve or surpass monthly portfolio KPIs, proactively mitigating risk and addressing potential issues.
  • Coordinate with the Funding & Operations Manager on escalated collection activities, including demand and default notices, repossessions, and legal actions if required.
  • Participate in company training sessions and assist in onboarding new members of the Inventory Finance team.
  • Act as the primary contact for key Vendor/Portfolio program relationships.
  • Prepare designated reports on managed programs and portfolio relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the Inventory Finance teams in both the US and Canada.
  • Play an active role in enhancing process efficiency, automating routine tasks wherever feasible.
  • Support the Manager in Portfolio Management duties as needed.
  • Perform additional job responsibilities as required or as the position evolves.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Dealer Collection or Portfolio Management within Inventory Finance (floorplan).
  • Experience in reconciling Audit/Floor checks and conducting rental verifications with dealers and rental companies.
  • Familiarity with construction, material handling, and other relevant industries (asset).
  • Bilingual proficiency in French (asset) and English to manage dealer relationships across all Canadian provinces and the United States.
  • Knowledge of various floorplan operating systems, valuation guides, reporting tools, and credit/financial statement analysis (asset).
  • Exceptional customer service skills, self-motivation, confidence, and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and the ability to learn customized software and programs utilized by the Inventory Finance team.
