About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at PREFERRED CHILD CARE LTD. As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing child-care programs that support the overall development of children.
  • Assisting Educators: Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leadership: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records of children's progress.
  • Encouraging Creativity: Encourage children to express their creativity through various forms of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guidance and Support: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Progress Updates: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Staff Meetings: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Have knowledge of licensing regulations.
  • Behavioral Guidelines: Establish guidelines for behavior.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Setting: Child care centre.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, creativity, honesty, and ability to multitask.
