Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing quality nursing care? We are looking for a committed Licensed Practical Nurse who is dedicated to delivering empathetic patient support to become a vital part of our healthcare team.

In alignment with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Standards of Practice, the LPN will collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, engaging in direct patient care activities. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients in the Emergency Department. The role involves participating in discharge planning, advocating for patients, and educating patients and their families on health promotion and wellness. The LPN will strive to enhance the quality of life from the perspective of the patient and their family.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognized Practical Nurse program and a minimum of one year of recent experience in a related healthcare setting.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven nursing practice skills in caring for patients in an emergency setting, including those with stable and predictable health conditions.
  • Knowledge of common diagnoses and pathophysiology relevant to the patient population.
  • Ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions for various clinical situations.
  • Strong clinical judgment to ensure safe and ethical patient care.
  • Capacity to recognize complications and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and maintaining competency in relevant procedures.
  • Timely and accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Effective communication skills for patient consultations and education.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and patient-centered planning.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the demands of the position.
