In this role, you will operate within a collaborative clinical environment, adhering to the standards set forth by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Your responsibilities will include working closely with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver direct patient care, which encompasses assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health interventions for patients in the Emergency Department.
You will actively participate in discharge planning and care coordination, advocate for patients, and educate patients and their families on health management and wellness strategies. Your efforts will enhance the quality of life for patients and their families, fostering therapeutic relationships grounded in respect.
As part of a team-oriented approach, you will provide care across various age groups, focusing on patients with stable and predictable health conditions by following established care plans. You will also be responsible for recognizing and addressing unexpected patient outcomes through effective communication and collaboration with healthcare team members. Accurate documentation of care provided and incident responses will be essential, in line with established protocols and expectations.
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including Days and Nights, from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

Candidates must provide the following documentation as part of the application process:
- Current registration number with the BCCNM (if applicable).
- Supporting documents related to education and qualifications.
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program and at least one year of recent experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BCCNM.
- Proficient in nursing practices related to emergency care for patients across the lifespan.
- Strong knowledge of pathophysiology and common diagnoses relevant to the patient population.
- Ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions effectively.
- Capable of making sound clinical judgments to ensure safe patient care.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Competency in using medical equipment and maintaining accurate documentation.
