French-Speaking Payroll Specialist

Location: This is a hybrid position (3 days per week in office and 2 days remote).

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will support a team dedicated to serving over 5000 employees across Canada by implementing effective practices and processes. You will be part of a collaborative Payroll, Finance, and HR team that is committed to ensuring a positive experience for all staff members. Key attributes for success in this role include integrity, time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
Payroll Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll for over 5000 employees in compliance with government regulations and internal policies.
- Process and submit Records of Employment.
- Review and manage financial allocations.
- Conduct monthly audits and reconciliations for WSIB remittances.
- Assist with year-end reconciliations and preparation of T4 forms and related summaries.
- Address payroll inquiries promptly, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Accurately process and audit New Hire, Change, and Termination forms within established timelines.
- Maintain precise employee records in the Payroll/HRIS system.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of practical experience in HR, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in MS Excel at an advanced level (including formulas, filtering, sorting, formatting, and vlookup) is crucial for this role.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service orientation are required.
- Experience in auditing payroll, benefits, or related financial and HR data is preferred.
- CHRP or PCP designation is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Completion or progress in a post-secondary program in business administration, human resources, accounting, computer science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of statutory withholdings, CPP, EI, Income Tax, and Workers Compensation is required.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
