French-Speaking Payroll Specialist

Location: This is a hybrid position (3 days per week in office and 2 days remote).
Must be fluent in French.
As a vital member of the Payroll team, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting over 5000 employees across Canada by implementing effective practices and processes. You will collaborate with a dedicated Payroll, Finance, and HR team committed to ensuring a positive experience for all staff. Success in this position requires integrity, excellent time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll for a large workforce, adhering to relevant legislation and internal policies.
- Manage the processing and submission of Record of Employment forms.
- Review and process financial allocations.
- Conduct monthly audits and reconciliations for WSIB remittances.
- Assist with year-end processes, including T4 preparation and related summaries.
- Address payroll inquiries promptly, providing exceptional customer service.
- Accurately process and audit New Hire, Change, and Termination forms within specified timelines.
- Maintain precise employee records in the Payroll/HRIS system.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in HR, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions (formulas, filters, sorting, formatting, vlookup).
- Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Experience in auditing payroll, benefits, or related financial and HR data.
- CHRP or PCP designation is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Completion or progress in a post-secondary program in business administration, human resources, accounting, computer science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of statutory withholdings, CPP, EI, Income Tax, and Workers Compensation is essential.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
