Job Title: Chef Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Dexterra Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading and managing kitchen operations to ensure exceptional food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to kitchen staff to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and implement menu planning, food costing, and inventory management strategies to optimize kitchen efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager and Regional Chef to achieve personal and company goals, including menu development, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
  • Manage quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of kitchen operations, including food costs, labor costs, and customer feedback.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience working in commercial kitchens, preferably in a camp, hotel, or banquet setting.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a First Cook or Sous Chef.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing kitchen operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and food safety regulations.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate and a clean abstract.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and delegate tasks effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb ladders or stairs.
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.
  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
  • Work with arms above shoulder height.
