We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Collections and Credit Specialist to become a vital part of our finance team. This role is essential for maintaining our financial health and involves close collaboration with clients and various internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively monitors accounts for overdue payments and credit limit breaches, conducting a significant volume of outreach primarily through email and phone.
  • Conducts thorough research and reconciliation of unallocated credits and outstanding journal entries.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries and concerns from clients.
  • Collects pertinent financial data to develop suitable solutions.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of collection efforts and communications within our financial systems.
  • Identifies opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to our clientele.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision to achieve team objectives.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, demonstrating composure under pressure and a tactful yet assertive approach. Proficiency in French is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly with numerical data, spelling, and dates.
  • High adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience in negotiating payment arrangements and resolving disputes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably D365) for analyzing payment trends and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative to address issues and seize opportunities as they arise.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
