We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Collections and Credit Specialist to become a vital part of our finance team. This role is essential for maintaining our financial health and involves close collaboration with clients and various internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitors accounts for overdue payments and credit limit breaches, conducting a significant volume of outreach primarily through email and phone.
- Conducts thorough research and reconciliation of unallocated credits and outstanding journal entries.
- Responds promptly to inquiries and concerns from clients.
- Collects pertinent financial data to develop suitable solutions.
- Maintains detailed documentation of collection efforts and communications within our financial systems.
- Identifies opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to our clientele.
Experience & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision to achieve team objectives.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, demonstrating composure under pressure and a tactful yet assertive approach. Proficiency in French is highly regarded.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly with numerical data, spelling, and dates.
- High adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proven experience in negotiating payment arrangements and resolving disputes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably D365) for analyzing payment trends and data entry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Initiative to address issues and seize opportunities as they arise.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
