Income Assistant Administrator

**Position Title**: Income Assistant Administrator
**Department**: Social Services
**Reports To**: Homalco First Nation Administrator
**Location**: Homalco First Nation
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Client Support**:
- Conduct client interviews to assess financial needs and eligibility for various assistance programs.
- Maintain a client-focused approach to ensure respectful, confidential, and empathetic service delivery.
- **Application Assistance**:
- **Administrative Duties**:
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by the Social Services Manager.
- **Community Outreach**:
- Conduct informational sessions and workshops to educate community members about available financial assistance programs.
- Develop and distribute informational materials to promote awareness of income support services.
- Collaborate with other community service providers to coordinate support and resources for clients.
- **Program Development**:
- Participate in the development and enhancement of income assistance programs and services.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
- Stay informed about changes in government policies and programs affecting income assistance.
- **Collaboration and Networking**:
- Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, government departments, and other service providers.
- Represent Homalco First Nation in meetings and forums related to income assistance and social services.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Homalco First Nation to provide comprehensive support to clients.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education and Experience**:
- A diploma or degree in social work, community services, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a client-facing role within social services, particularly in income assistance or financial aid, is an asset.
- Knowledge of the specific needs and challenges faced by First Nations communities.
- **Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using office software and database management systems.
- **Personal Attributes**:
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the Homalco First Nation community.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
**Working Conditions**:
- This position is typically based in an office environment, with occasional travel within the community for outreach activities.
- Standard working hours apply, with some flexibility required for evening or weekend events.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $24.50-$27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
