**About the BCLDB**:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the daily operations of the 198 BC Liquor Stores. The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business, creates systems and processes, and establishes daily retail procedures to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB’s core values of service, relationships, and results. **About this role**:
Reporting to the Content & Production Manager, the Content & Production Specialist is responsible for coordinating the operational activities related to TASTE magazine, which supports the BCLIQUOR (BCL) brand. This can also include inserts/brochures/digital content as required. This position is responsible for the coordination and execution of TASTE magazine content & production.

The TASTE magazine, projects the image, standards, and brand values of the LDB as outlined in the overall marketing plan and LDB corporate strategy. It is intended to enhance customer satisfaction and optimize revenue.

The Content & Production Specialist works in a dynamic, results-oriented environment with frequently changing issues and priorities. To fulfil its responsibilities and achieve the goals and objectives of the Director and the LDB, the position must develop and maintain extensive relationships with several stakeholders including:

- Content & Production Manager to understand vision and business requirements each quarter and translate this into the planning, initiation, and execution phases of TASTE magazine production.
- Content & Production Coordinator, Graphic Designer and Product Specialist, External Editor, External Food/Cocktail Stylist/ Photographer and Printers - to select props, accessories, and overall visual presentation for photography; manage the photo shoot; coordinate food recipes and editorial for all publications/magazines, and coordinate.
- Journalists: research availability of specialized external writers; selects appropriate writers; advises of due dates for submission of articles and edited final copy; does editing and proofing’s and in conjunction with Editor approves final copy
- Digital Marketing Team to ensure content selection and featured cocktails align with TASTE Magazine features.
- Merchandising to ensure merchandising monthly image plan and store displays align with TASTE Magazine features.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:
Diploma or Certificate in Marketing, English, Communications, Publishing, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of recent, related experience* as a member of a production or publication team (ie. advertising, print, media.)

OR

Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate and a minimum of 2 years of recent, related experience*.
- Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last 5 years and must include the following:

- Experience in leading a photo shoot overseeing tasks such as propping, set design, photo shoot art direction or visual presentation.
- Supervising staff and establishing priorities, allocating, and managing human and fiscal resources.
- Experience with both MAC (Macintosh/Apple) & PC (Windows) operating systems
