The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of non-medical cannabis and beverage alcohol within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Cannabis Stores and BC Liquor Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government’s key priorities of protecting children and youth, ensuring health and safety standards, and keeping the criminal element out of the supply chain. Following legalization, the BCLDB began distribution and wholesale of cannabis, and operating BC Cannabis Stores in a growing number of locations across the province. Since 2018 the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to 35 locations with more growth planned all across the province. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.

The Vendor Relations Analyst (VRA) is responsible for gathering data, reviewing and revising information and performing analysis related to the current state of the business, ongoing improvement opportunities, expanding knowledge of the supply chain and future impacts. The VRA is responsible for vendor onboarding/registration, the registration of new products, executing product distribution guidelines and assisting with documentation and ensuring corporate compliance guidelines are met. All updates to vendor and product information are updated immediately to ensure real time accuracy for all customers of the wholesale business.

The VRA works to have a good relationship with the vendors in order to obtain accurate and relevant data to populate the master database for vendor and product/sku in order to maximize the use of business intelligence by all internal partners and to obtain efficiencies in operational processes. The VRA is required to collaborate, gather, validate and process data achieving a high level of accuracy at all times. This is done with an insight of the cannabis market, product knowledge, understanding of the supply chain and an awareness of the BCLDB compliance guidelines and policies in order to accurately process and update information. Excellent customer service skills are required to ensure compliance and efficiency.
