The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the daily operations of the 198 BC Liquor Stores. The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business, creates systems and processes, and establishes daily retail procedures to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB’s core values of service, relationships, and results. **About this role**:
The Merchandising Operations Analyst provides analytical, planning and reporting services to assist the Director, Merchandising to monitor, evaluate and increase revenue and merchandising performance for the 198 BCL stores. The Merchandising Operations Analyst collaborates with clients, colleagues and IT professionals to design, fine tune, implement, and trouble shoot projects, initiatives, and process improvement.to enhance the alignment between the business requirements and operational process/systems.

This position makes use of a number of internal and external operational reporting toolsets and data sources to provide variance analysis and is the key resource in supporting the operational analytics for the Merchandising team, specifically with regards to strategic pricing and competitive share activity.

**Position requirements**:
Education and Experience:
A degree or diploma in business administration, marketing, operations management, category management or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience*

OR

An equivalent combination of recent, related experience*, education and training may be considered, i.e., a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience* with related formal courses and/or certificates.
- Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last 8 years and must include the following:

- Conducting research and analysis and preparing recommendations related to merchandising programs and initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining program plans, forecasts and reporting tools to evaluate effectiveness of programs/initiatives.
- Merchandising, marketing and/or product management.
