Reporting to Chief Underwriting Officer and working closely with other internal teams, this role will be responsible for managing brokerage relationships between SWG and brokerage network, develop and achieve targeted business goals with contracted brokers, and develop opportunities to grow the business with new brokerages and territories within the region, all which reflect SWG’s strategies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Specific job duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Take the lead role and ownership of the development of brokers’ sales strategies, communication, and tools necessary to grow production across Canada.
- Manage the brokerage relationships which includes understanding brokers’ goals, plans and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with program brokers and be attentive to their needs so as to retain business.
- Work effectively with functional departments and management teams to achieve plans and goals, which includes; training sessions, facilitating meetings with SWG and brokerage staff, implementing underwriting plans, providing marketplace information, and directing claim or underwriting concerns to the appropriate channels at broker and SWG offices.
- Attend trade shows, conferences and events relevant to local broker relationship development.
- Organize, plan and execute broker events (virtual and in-person) to educate and advise brokers about our suite of products and build follow-up strategies for the underwriting team to execute on opportunities.
- Maintain and actively upgrade a strong understanding and knowledge of marketplace, products, brokerages, and competitors.
- Work closely with marketing and operations to enhance and execute on broker communications through various channels.
- Be innovative; seek opportunities to grow business, develop new products and enhance broker experience.
- Consistently track all lines of business and marketing results, KPIs and customer insights, and report on performance against KPIs

**Qualifications**:

- 10+ years’ experience in insurance industry
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales and business development
- Proven experience in developing new customers and building relationships
- Strong planning and organizing skills involving goal setting and results measurement, with the ability to develop effective plans that define activities, resources and timelines.
- Strong presentation and training skills with the ability to effectively facilitate sessions and deliver powerful presentations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and ensure understanding.
- Positive relationship development skills and selling technique
- Know how to engage with stakeholders and become trusted advisor
- Be able to engage with senior level executives and facilitate consultations
- Bilingual in French / English is preferred
