**Your role**

We are seeking an effective Business Development professional and industry insider with a strong network of contacts within the many sectors we do business in the Southern Ontario region. You'll have the ability to leverage that network to identify, pursue and secure new opportunities essential to our organizational growth and expansion.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be calling on a mixture of public and private sector clients. You will develop business with a diverse range of sectors including local, provincial, and federal governments; higher education institutions; school boards; non-profits, housing authorities; long-term care; healthcare service providers; real estate companies and developers; industrial and manufacturing clients; technology and telecommunications organizations; civic and social organizations; hospitality, retail, professional and financial services providers. Based in Southern Ontario, you have a passion for creative deal-making, are comfortable in the C-suite, and work with a network of senior people you can call upon. You understand organizational politics and can help facilitate change.

Working collaboratively with the Regional Vice President, Principals, Senior Project Managers, Marketing and Proposal Team Members and other Business Development Managers, you will lead the implementation of annual business plans, be responsible for generating and responding to leads and providing sales and marketing support to business unit team members.

**Responsibilities**:

- You are a true hunter and have your focus on acquiring new business
- You have experience working with institutional organizations and the public sector
- Initiation and nurturing of prospective client relationships to seek out and secure specific opportunities where Colliers Project Leaders’ experience and expertise can be leveraged
- Provide support to marketing and sales efforts with existing clients, including exploring opportunities to sell new and expanded service offerings
- Ability to collaborate with the marketing team on targeted strategies and presentation material
- Assessment of networking opportunities in the region and assume a leadership role to plan and participate in relevant events, conferences, and speaking opportunities
- The ability to play a major role in setting and achieving annual and monthly sales objectives and targets for the region along with the Vice President, Director of Business Development, and other Business Development Managers
- An aptitude for developing and maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products, services, and business approach as well as competitors’ activity and offerings within the region
- Proven history of working with highly skilled, technically-minded professionals

Qualifications:

- A university degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, marketing, or a combination of relevant academic and practical experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar business development, sales, or marketing role for professional services or consulting firms, or other non-commodity sales environments
- Previous experience in project management, design, construction, or real estate industry environments is a strong asset
- Previous experience working with local, provincial, or federal governments
- Previous experience developing and executing tactical sales plans as well as regularly exceeding established quotas and account objectives
- A strong network of influential industry contacts within the region as well as maintain involvement with applicable regional and national industry and trade associations.
- Drive, ambition, and the ability to work collaboratively while holding others accountable
