We are actively looking to fill the following full time role within our Sudbury IT Team, located in Sudbury, Ontario.
- **2024-29 - IT Systems Administrator (1 Position)**

**Scope of the role**

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, servers, networks, and telecommunications systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot hardware problems.
- First and second level contact and triage for all information technology service requests, incident and problem reporting for Sudbury IT department.
- Setup and deployment of VoIP phones, mobile devices and network printers.
- Manage user data and computer backups.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Log and manage incidents using ticketing systems (ServiceNow).
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams or vendors when necessary.
- Assist in user training for new technologies and software.
- Create and update user documentation and guides for frequently asked questions.
- Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues (e.g., VPN, Wi-Fi, LAN).
- Support remote users with access and connectivity problems.
- Monitor for potential security risks and take steps to mitigate them (e.g., software patches, antivirus updates).
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, such as data security and privacy protocols.

**Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge**
- Minimum of 5 years in IT Technical Support
- Minimum of 3 years in IT infrastructure Management.
- Minimum of 3 years in IT Systems and Applications Management.
- Experience working with Business Intelligence solution(s).
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a similar role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, systems administration, and technical support, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, server administration, database management, and cybersecurity principles.
- Solid understanding of IT project management methodologies and experience in leading IT projects from initiation to successful completion.
- Excellent skill level in configuration, installation and deployment of PC hardware and Window operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11).
- Excellent knowledge of Android and Apple iOS mobile Operating Systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to assess complex situations and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent customer care skills with the ability to gauge customer’s technical ability and communicate in an appropriate technical or non-technical language.
