**Division Overview**

The Partnership’s Cancer Control Division implements programs and initiatives that deliver on the priorities of the 2019-2029 Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. The division is comprised of program teams that specialize in all parts of the cancer continuum - prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, clinical care, survivorship and palliative care. The program teams work in partnership with provincial and territorial governments, cancer agencies, health organizations, health-care professionals, people living with cancer and those who care for them, to drive practice and policy changes that improve the cancer experience for all people in Canada. All program teams in the division place a special focus on populations in Canada who have less access to timely and effective cancer prevention, services and care, and the teams ensure that all initiatives take action to address the unique challenges faced by First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples affected by cancer.

Overview of Role

The _Manager, Diagnosis & Clinical Care _supports the Cancer Control Division in carrying out projects and initiatives to achieve organizational priorities. Reporting to the Director, Diagnosis & Clinical Care, the incumbent leads the delivery of program/project objectives. As a highly organized professional with strong time management skills, this position delivers on the tasks of the job while contributing to the Partnership’s overall vision to reduce the burden of cancer on all Canadians.

**Core Responsibilities & Activities**

Program Specific Accountabilities
- Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of pan-Canadian initiatives aimed at improving suspicion to diagnosis, setting and promoting best practices for high quality care, and supporting the needs of patients, families and care givers through transitions in care
- Liaises with representatives from provincial/territorial governments, provincial cancer agency/programs, pan-Canadian health organizations, clinical professional associations, and other partners to promote and support implementation of Partnership-funded initiatives
- Oversees and facilitates pan-Canadian meetings to engage clinicians and other partners in the advancement and adoption of diagnosis and clinical care initiatives
- Provides oversight, develops strategies and leads engagement processes to support the adoption and implementation of early diagnosis, follow-up and clinical care initiatives Develops and implements a data analytic plan for outcomes reporting, and works with key stakeholders to establish reporting at the national level for synoptic surgical reporting
- Collaborates with others to support the development of operational plans for Diagnosis and Clinical Care projects, including creating and monitoring milestones, timelines, budgets, risks and contracts to ensure programmatic objectives and outcomes are met

**General Accountabilities**
- Facilitates the integration of expert advice into program/project work to further organizational outcomes
- Supports the Director in program planning, including the development of the annual work plan and budget, long term plans, and determining the outcomes of projects/programs
- Acts as primary contact and source of information for internal and external stakeholders regarding program/project content, status, and findings
- Manages external partner agreements, workplans, and vendor contracts
- Works closely with others to contribute content expertise to project opportunity assessments and project plans
- Oversees and actively contributes to progress reporting as required for senior management, the Board of Directors and Health Canada
- Leads and supports staff to implement projects and achieve team objectives
- Coaches and develops staff through the annual performance management process
- Prepares and presents content and/or represents the Diagnosis and Clinical Care team at meetings, both internal and external, and/or conferences and other forums as directed
- Assists the Director with other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
