Position Title: Clinical Academic Psychiatrist at the University of Toronto
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto is seeking a Clinical Academic Psychiatrist to deliver care to adult patients experiencing a dual diagnosis, including developmental disabilities alongside emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric challenges, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will be appointed as a Lecturer, Assistant, or Associate Professor.
- Engage in comprehensive clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions within a multidisciplinary framework
- Instruct and mentor medical students and psychiatry residents
- Contribute to research initiatives and other scholarly activities
Experience working with a dual diagnosis demographic and conducting adult autism evaluations is crucial for this position. CAMH is a leader in Canada for addiction and mental health services, recognized for providing holistic care from initial episodes to managing severe and chronic mental health conditions.
Affiliated with the University of Toronto, a premier research-focused institution, CAMH emphasizes the integration of clinical practice, education, and research within its operational model.
Candidates must possess an MD degree, be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, and qualify for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Eligibility for an academic role within the University of Toronto's Department of Psychiatry is also required. Proficiency in English is essential.
