**Organizational Overview**
Reception House Waterloo Region is a non-profit organization that enables the successful resettlement of newly arrived refugees by providing temporary accommodation and orientation, assistance securing permanent housing, ongoing settlement and intensive case management services.
We are looking for an eager to learn individual who is flexible, able to take the initiative and loves working with a wide-range of people from diverse backgrounds.
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture (HR) Human Resources Coordinator works closely with managers and employees to ensure that HR processes (such as hiring, benefits administration, payroll, and other general employment policies) are running smoothly. This position is the first point of contact for any employment related questions and transactions.

Responsibilities:_**
- Managing human resource records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts, performance reviews and benefits forms
- Maintaining our HRIS (BambooHR) to ensure accurate, timely information can be made available to management and staff.
- Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee, completing monthly workplace inspections and actioning any outcomes
- Assisting the Leadership Team in advising management on legal compliance
- Assisting the HR Manager/Director in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures
- Providing recruitment support for management by assisting in creating job postings, interview questions, reference checks and job offers
- Providing assistance and supporting to employees
- Ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues
- Creating new hire employee letters, packages, and managing the onboarding process using BambooHR (HRIS)
**_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_**
- Degree or diploma in human resources
- Minimum of 2 years HR related experience
- Knowledge of current employment legislations
- Positive attitude, and approachable with a friendly, self-confident nature
- Attention to detail especially when reviewing written documents and following up on important dates
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and tact
- Skilled in time management and organization techniques
- Skilled communicator, both verbal and in writing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint & suite of products
- HRIS experience (BambooHR is an asset)
To maintain the safety of staff and participants, Reception House has implemented a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. All Staff hired after October 1, 2021 are required to provide proof of being Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 as a pre-condition of their employment or placement offer. If an individual is unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19, they will be required to submit written proof verifying a medical reason or by submitting a request under the Ontario Human Rights Code and agree to regular Rapid Antigen Testing at least two times per week. When documentation has been received and approved, Reception House will provide accommodation up to the point of undue hardship in compliance with the _OHRC_ and may follow up to receive further information and/or documentation as required. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the immediate revocation of an offer of employment.
