**JOB POSTING**

**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Manager, Talent & HR Systems, the Recruitment and Outreach Specialist will promote the Hamilton Police Service to prospective applicants through social media platforms and by building strong relationships with various community groups and educational organizations to support civilian, sworn, cadet, student and volunteer hiring.

**Some General Duties include**:

- As the point of HR contact with community partners, schools, cultural centres, groups and associations to attract diverse applicants to a career at HPS by providing education and understanding of recruitment practices.
- Lead and execute recruitment outreach related initiatives, which can include designing/attending events, building marketing strategies, building partnerships, attending job fairs, and providing presentations, to various diverse communities/groups.
- Provide support to the Recruiters for co-op/internship programs by working directly with educational organizations in providing information on our recruitment processes and mentorship opportunities.
- Design recruitment content for internal initiatives (SharePoint) and external channels including social media posts to expand our applicant pools.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, the public, other police services, partner organizations, community groups, and the public on a variety of recruitment or outreach initiatives
- Collaborate with the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Unit to leverage partnerships for recruitment initiatives.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education & Experience**
- Successful completion of a three (3) year College Diploma/Degree in Human Resources or a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in recruiting including designing and supporting outreach programs. Experience with recruitment software (applicant tracking system or HRIS).

**Certificates/Licenses/Apprenticeships**
- Valid Class G license, or the equivalent with no more than six (6) accumulated demerit points, permitting you to drive an automobile in Ontario with full driving privileges.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Excellent Microsoft office word, excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Fosters Relationships: Seek and builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as co-operatively within a team.
- Previous experience designing and posting content on social media to support outreach efforts and recruitment strategies.
- Sound knowledge of relevant collective agreements, employment legislation (ESA), the Ontario Human Rights Code.
