Working collaboratively as part of the Scotts Canada Marketing Team, the Assistant Manager, Omnichannel Marketing will execute and support the Canadian Shopper Marketing team.
You will be responsible for the creation, execution, and management of innovative and digitally oriented solutions to meet the needs of the Canadian business, marketing, and sale's teams' objectives. You will also be supporting the Shopper Marketing Manager for instore, sample and trade show needs. You will be a key contributor in the development of retail digital Shopper Marketing strategies intended to drive market leadership, innovation, and growth. This role will also require strong cross-functional relationships internally (within a multi-disciplined digital team, with brand partners, other marketing functions, and technical teams), and external agency partners, to drive performance through owned and retailer properties. This is a hybrid position - will be required to work onsite 2-3 days a week and the remainder remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own & execute on all consumer, customer and brand facing digital initiatives within the marketing department, gathering and communicating requirements, feedback and changes
- Collaborate with our digital technology team to roadmap Canadian digital requirements and deliver new solutions;
- Own & execute campaigns based on business goals aligning to objective & KPIs set out by Brand Managers, Assistant Brand Managers;
- Lead relationships with creative and media agencies to coordinate creative direction, user interface design and analytics.
- Lead the execution of all web site redesigns and updates working with brand managers, external agencies and internal US digital teams
- Own & execute yearly content calendars along with agencies and internal stakeholders and appropriate content for applicable for CRM executions & social channels including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
- Primary liaison with Digital Partners, managing paid and earned programs and providing ongoing direction based on metrics and providing recommendations as result of monthly review meetings
- Develop, manage and maintain digital assets library including perfect sku copy for both company and customer websites
- Collaborate with Shopper Marketing Manager to develop and maintain product pages to be used on customer web and ecommerce sites, product, educational and lifestyle content
- Stay up to date on current best practices, trends and technology for digital marketing and make recommendations to drive efficiencies, improvement and innovation
- Collaborate with the marketing brand team as well as with US Digital and Ecommerce teams, leveraging learnings, strategies and assets to achieve marketing and business objectives
- University education in Marketing, Commerce, Business or related experience.
- 6-10 years of proven work experience as a digital marketing specialist / project manager on a category-leading consumer brand/e-commerce brand or through a body of work from a nationally-recognized digital agency
- Excellent collaboration, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with third-party partners, external agencies, and US counterparts
- Comfortable with ambiguity and blazing their own trail with theability to quickly pivot and adjust;
- Experience with various digital technologies and platforms;
- Experience in turning business objectives into digital solutions;
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail
- Creative eye with an aptitude for copy development and design
- Well organized combined with strong project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and tight deadlines
- Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
