MANAGER OF MAINTENANCE AND

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Salary Range: $125,308 per year

1.0 FTE Permanent Position

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking

qualified applicants for the full-time position of Manager of Maintenance and

Environmental Services to lead the Maintenance and Environmental Services

responsible for leading the planning and execution of the Board’s maintenance,

repair, renovation and renewal projects and program and managing the Board’s

energy and environmental purchase, programs and initiatives. This position

actively contributes to the formation and implementation of the board’s

multi-year Capital Strategic Plan. The Manager will ensure the SCDSB is in

compliance with regulatory requirements as it relates to this all areas under

communication skills, passion for creating change, with superior planning, prioritizing and

attention to detail skills.

Qualifications, Relevant

Skills and Experience:
Engineering Degree (Bachelor

of Science in Civil or Mechanical engineering) or equivalent;

More than ten (10) years’

related experience in the areas of architectural and engineering design,

tendering processes, building construction, and project oversight, preferably

within an education environment or large public sector unionized environment;

considered with a minimum combination of fourteen (14) years of educational

equivalency and/or progressive experience relevant to the Manager of

Maintenance and Environmental Services;

Comprehensive understanding of

architectural/engineering design, tendering process, building construction methods,

project management, and contract administration;

Knowledge of maintenance

management and energy management principles and best practices;

Extensive knowledge of Ontario

Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, legislative, regulatory and legal requirements

related to building design/construction/operation;

Formal training and/or

certification in building systems and sustainability is preferred;

Working knowledge of

alternative energy, energy revenue generating programs, energy markets and sustainability;

Knowledge of management

techniques/practices; presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;

Strong verbal and written

communication skills,

Superior critical thinking, problem-solving,

planning, prioritizing and attention to detail skills;

Ability to

adapt quickly to a dynamic, and evolving environment;

Working knowledge of relevant computer software

programs, e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.;

A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required as this

position will require travel to various sites throughout Simcoe County.

This is a full-time permanent position. The regular

work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation

range for this twelve (12) month position is $125,308 per year, depending on

qualifications and experience. The normal work week for this position is

thirty-five (35) hours.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is

mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS

pension.
