**Position Summary**

Under the direction of the First Nations Family Advocate, the Data Scaabe will serve as a first point of contact for First Nations families seeking advocacy support to help navigate the Manitoba Child and Family Services (CFS) system. The Data Scaabe will assist families with completing the pre-intake process; will present comprehensive file summaries at weekly case conference; and will be responsible for extensive data entry of all client files into the First Nations Family Advocate Office (FNFAO) Database.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Will inform clients of the accountability agreement and consent to release information forms during the pre-intake process.
- Will work with families to complete the intake and orientation process and ensure that documentation is received and filed in the FNFAO Database prior to presenting at case conference.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all FNFAO streams of services to help inform families of services available to them through the FNFAO.
- Will prepare a list of client files and file summaries for case conference.
- Attend weekly case conference and present file summaries of all new client files.
- Assist with the facilitation of weekly case conference by presenting new client file summaries.
- Provide a list of all assigned client files following case conference.
- Assist with data entry of all new, existing, and historical client files into the FNFAO Database.
- Assist with training new staff on how to use the FNFAO Database.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Education & Experience**
- Grade 12 education required. A college or university education is preferred.
- Knowledge of First Nation issues related to the child welfare system and health services.
- Excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops.
- Demonstrate problem solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of management, organizational and planning principles.
- Be able to follow office procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of First Nations people and Nations.
- Able to work flexible hours and travel upon request.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Clear Child Abuse Checks.
