**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Director, Concordia International, the incumbent manages the design, implementation, promotion and growth of international academic programs, as well as the development of the unit’s academic initiatives, working closely with various units to assess the feasibility of proposed projects. They will contribute to the development of initiatives led by Concordia International and academic units throughout the University. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring coherence with the University’s strategic directions and alignment with best practices in international education.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide expert pedagogical support for current and future international academic programs.
- Design, develop and promote approved international academic initiatives as they relate to institutional strategic internationalization objectives, and work in close collaboration with the faculties on the implementation of the initiatives.
- Oversee the continuous quality improvement of Concordia’s International educational offerings, including the promotion and integration of best practices and new learning models.
- Manage, operationally, the international academic programs including student exchange, field schools, study abroad (short term and long term), internships and other special global academic initiatives.
- Undertake research and analysis to support international academic offerings, including inventory of similar programs offered at other institutions, enrolment trends, market analysis and surveys of student interest. Provide timely and accurate analysis of for-credit internationalization initiatives and recommend improvements to ensure innovation, accessibility, and relevance.
- Support the processing of international educational agreements, in collaboration with the manager of international research.
- Research, monitor, validate and disseminate examples of best practices in international education to the University community.
- Assist in the integration of institutional-wide learning endeavors for example, issues relating to experiential learning, digitalization, indigenization, and mental health into unit’s academic international initiatives.
- Represent the unit on various internal and external meetings and/or committees that deal with student affairs, curricular development, and academic advising as approved by the director of Concordia International and the AVPI.
- Maintain informational resources on international education programs to ensure they are up to date as they pertain to the mandate.
- Lead projects and events, or perform other duties as required by the director of Concordia International and approved by the AVPI.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor 's degree in education or in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities, with four to seven years of experience in the design and development of academic programs, with at least 1 year of experience in a managerial role. Graduate degree an asset.
- Experience with research, analysis and development of post-secondary educational programs and curricular initiatives. Experience working directly with faculty an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian and international educational systems. Solid expertise in academic rules and regulations
- Knowledge of external bodies and organizations involved in international education
- Project management experience; demonstrated ability to move multi-stakeholder, cross-departmental initiatives forward
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage simultaneous competing initiatives in a variety of dossiers, demonstrated initiative and follow-up
- Thorough reviewing and editing skills; meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently, both autonomously and within a team
- Very good knowledge (Level 5) of spoken and written English. Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written French.
