Job Summary
- UBC has embarked on a multi-year journey to transform its academic and administrative support processes and system environments for the entire UBC community. In November 2020, UBC successfully went live with its new HR and Finance implementation of Workday. The Integrated Renewal Program (IRP) is now focused on the journey to renew the Student information ecosystem, anchored by the implementation of Workday Student.

The Integrated Renewal Program-Student (IRP Student) vision is to transform the way UBC supports learning and research, and how UBC works, to create a cohesive, integrated, and enriched experience for students, staff, and faculty. This implementation will result in superior support for UBC students, a better user experience, a new set of tools, a new way of working, and improved reporting for informed decision-making. IRP Student will leverage the industry-leading cloud enterprise solution Workday to replace our current core Student administration systems with a new integrated, user friendly, mobile-enabled platform. The Workday Student Go-Live Support Coordinator will support ongoing delivery of user training that supports the business transformation to drive faster adoption, greater utilization and higher proficiency of new systems and processes. This will include acting as a common point of contact for Faculties and Schools when they encounter issues related to Workday Student functionality. The Go-Live Support Coordinator will develop a variety of support methodologies, such as MS Teams channels, online and/or in-person support sessions, job aids, and others as relevant.

This role reports to and works closely with the Workday Student Business Analyst in the Provost’s Office. They will work with the IRP Student Transformation and Change Management team and other members of the UBCO Transition Support Network to create a hub for information sharing across UBCO. The Go-Live Support Coordinator will support the development of learning objectives and activities to support them. This role is also responsible for capturing key learning outcomes and lessons learned and reporting on results.
Organizational Status
- The Workday Student Go-Live Support Coordinator reports to the Workday Student Business Analyst in the Provost’s Office and works alongside them on assigned projects across all Faculties and Schools. Will also receive guidance from the IPR Student staff.
- This role requires regular cross-functional collaboration including building and maintaining strong relationships across UBCO’s Faculties and Schools, with project teams, leadership, faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders. The position will also act as a liaison with central UBC offices and committees responsible for Workday Student.

Work Performed- Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of training solutions for Faculties and Schools for multiple streams of the IRP Student Solution.-
- Initiates innovative and creative solutions to meet the learning and program delivery goals and objectives of IRP Student.-
- Coaches staff and faculty at all levels of the organization through changes they are encountering with Workday Students.-
- Works with UBCO staff and faculty to identify gaps in knowledge and training.-
- Liaises with IRP Student staff to plan, develop and deliver end user training solutions.-
- Manages the development of training assets such as job aids and training opportunities such as MS Teams channels and workshops.-
