**Title**: Office Manager
**Reports To**: Director of Retail Operations
**Job Purpose**: Supervises clerical staff and participates in their recruitment, selection and onboarding. Coordination of administrative and clerical work at NHC. Performs a variety of administrative and purchasing duties. Supports the Director of Retail Operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assign work, provide direction to clerical retail associates and make certain that assigned tasks are completed. Ensure effective and appropriate reception coverage.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of clerical retail associates. Responsible for the organization and execution of the onboarding program for all new hires.
- Manage the performance of administrative associates. Provide feedback and coaching on their performance and conduct performance evaluations.
- Evaluate, develop and recommend changes to or implementation of new office procedures and practices to senior management. Ensure that approved office policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
- Manage the purchasing transactions, maintain inventories of materials, equipment, and stock. Ensure price quotes are obtained from catalogues and suppliers.
- Work with Director, Retail Operations to determine the amount of inventory to order and carry. Oversee physical inventories with computer counts and address inventory discrepancies through investigation and analysis.
- Work with Director, Retail Operations to manage the marketing / advertising team.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Retail Operations.
- Coordinate administrative staff schedule to ensure proper coverage.
- Deals with escalated customers and complaints; to be resolved before escalation to Director, Retail Operations.
- Act as on-site management for assigned large sale events - ie warehouse sales and Kempenfest. Responsible for overseeing the event, providing guidance and support to the event staff and handle customer related concerns that may arise.
**Education & Experience**:
- High School Diploma, GED or 3-5 years related work experience required; University Degree or College Diploma in business administration or business management preferred.
- 4 years’ recent related experience, including one (1) year previous leadership experience
- Previous experience in purchasing, customer service, and inventory control is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook)
- Must have a good understanding of the retail sales environment
- Working knowledge and compliance with employment legislation including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
