JOB DUTIES
The School life coordinator works closely with the upper school director to ensure the school maintains a positive school climate. The School Life Coordinator is responsible for helping to create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment, developing and implementing school policies and procedures. The role also serves as a liaison between the school, the community, and other educational institutions.
**Responsibilities**:
Student Support and Discipline
- Actively listen to student concerns, offering guidance and support to address behavioral issues and promote a positive, inclusive school culture.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support students’ social-emotional development and address behavioral challenges.
- Enforce disciplinary procedures in line with school policies, ensuring consistency and fairness in all actions.
- Monitor student behavior during lunch, recess, and transitions to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of the student life curriculum, incorporating the school's core values of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social-emotional learning.
- Academic Operations, Scheduling, and Compliance
- Assist in managing course and exam registrations, as well as tracking grades and results for Alberta Education
- Handle student absence tracking, and disciplinary records
- Update and maintain academic calendars and coordinate logístical needs for exams, meetings, and school programs
Administrative and Event Coordination (20%)
- Coordinate school trips (request processing, updates to Pronote & EDT, and substitute teacher management).
- Organize school-wide events such as orientation and organizational days, holiday concerts (maternelle and whole school), graduation ceremonies, and Fête de la Musique.
- Assist the upper school director with day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Education reporting requirements (Assurance Survey, Annual Operation Plan).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred in Education, Educational Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Solid understanding and appreciation of the philosophy and unique goals of Lycée international de Calgary;
- Fluent in French, working proficiency in English.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar job in a high school setting.
**Other requirements**:
- Up-to-date First Aid & CPR certificates;
- Up-to-date police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Conflict Resolution or Mediation Training
- International teaching credentials are considered an asset.

- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Valid Work Permit holder without restrictions.
