**Mandate**:Work in close collaboration with the Product D irector and key stakeholders to help maintain a competitive and sustainable product shelf that meets the needs of our customers, distribution partners, and shareholders.

**Description**:The Assistant/Associate Product Manager, Affinity, works in tandem with the Individual Affinity Insurance product management and development team by supporting with day-to-day product management activities, monitoring, and service of inforce block of business, and supporting ongoing product initiatives. The Assistant/Associate Product Manager will also support the Product Director with product delivery activities from our product roadmap with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

- Highly collaborative approach, working closely with Account Managers and other internal stakeholders
- Understanding of competitive landscape, market share and trends
- Solid grasp of competitor’s products, including product features and pricing comparisons

R es pon s ib i l i t i e s & Key tasks

**Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) support **( **3 **0 **%)**
- Answer general product inquiries ( i.e., Askproduct )
- Interpretation of Certificates, Applications, and forms
- Product training
- Represent product to various CX and Distribution operational teams who support our customers
- Wholesaler / broker support
- Update LIA (Licensed Insurance Advisors) scripts
- Provide or help build training documents for NB (New Business), Policy service and brokers
- Maintain repository of Product information
- Assist in problem resolution for NB, and Policy Service

**Product Maintenance **( **30%)**
- Collaborate with Legal, Claims and Pricing to review Certificate or Master Policy
- Help identify the impact of new leg islat ion and compliance guidelines on product, and participate in implementation of required changes and updates
- Help create or update client facing material (Certificates, Master Policies, Product descriptions, Product Cards)
- Partner with the Account Management and Marketing teams to support development, compliance product review and maintenance of marketing collateral materials and Websites
- Review and a pprove Print, PDF, and Online Applications
- Represent product with various project initiative s (Path to green, Digital Transformation, etc. )

**Business **Development support **( **25 **%)**
- Partner closely with multiple internal key stakeholders from Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Digital Transformation, IT, Creative Services, Account Management, Legal and Compliance, Customer Experience and Distribution to assist with onboarding, product projects and initiatives
- Meet on a regular basis with Account Managers 1x1 to stay on top of new product or modifie d product requests
- Collaborate with Account Management on prioritizing client requests
- Collaborate & review Requests for Proposal (RFP)
- Assists with block transfers

**C **o **mp **e **t **i **t **ive **& **M **a **rk **e **t **I **n **t **e **ll **i **g **en **c **e **(10%)**
- Provide criteria to Market Research analyst to complete new or up-to-date rate and features comparisons and review and sign off
- Assist with developing and maintaining competitive information for the wholesaling team
- Collaborate with Competitive Intelligence team to prepare updates when competitors make key product changes

**Operational effectiveness **, **and Risk assessment **(5%)**
- Help i dentify and assis t & support the implementation of continuous improvement process opportunities with internal stakeholders (CX Contact Centre, Marketing, Sponsor Account Management, Legal and Compliance, Claims, Policy Services/New Business, Underwriting, Internal/External Sales)
- Help i dentify potential risks to the organization and partner with internal stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies
