The Human Resources Advisor plays a key role in ensuring the human resource functions of the Center align with current legislation and best practices, while supporting the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. As a trusted advisor, this role provides HR guidance, support, and expertise to managers and staff, helping foster a positive workplace culture and addressing HR needs across various functional areas, including legislative compliance and policy development, recruiting, orientation and retention, compensation, leaves and benefits, employee relations, and performance management.

**P**O**S**I**T**IO**N REQUIREMENTS**

**E**ducation**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation is an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Training in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is also an asset.

**P**rofessional Experience**:

- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar Human Resource role, preferably in an inter-professional setting and/or a not-for-profit organization.

**Key Competencies**
- **Knowledge of Employment Legislation**: Strong understanding of Ontario's Employment Standards Act, Employment Insurance Act, Pay Equity Act, and relevant legislation for registered health professionals.
- **HR Best Practices**: Expertise in contemporary HR theories, best practices, and trends for effective talent management and employee relations.
- **HRIS Proficiency**: Skilled in HRIS administration and Microsoft Office Suite to streamline HR processes.
- **Recruitment & Onboarding**: Proven ability to implement recruitment strategies and coordinate effective onboarding and retention practices.
- **Performance Evaluation Knowledge**: Familiarity with performance and job evaluation systems to support employee growth.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong organizational skills.
- **Discretion & Trust-Building**: Ability to manage sensitive issues discreetly, fostering trust with employees and managers.
- **Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion**: Strong dedication to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in HR practices.
