Toronto, Canada Network Child Care Services Full time

**Network Child Care Services** is currently recruiting for a Full Time (35 Hours per week) Communications and Special Events Coordinator for a 12-month Contract position.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Communications and Events Coordinator, assumes responsibility for providing strategic communication initiatives, event facilitation, special project coordination, and day-to day support to the operations.

Occasional evenings or weekend work may be required, with notice and compensation.

Occasional travel to events venue may be required.

**Who is Network Child Care Services?**

Network is a non-profit child care organization, licensed by the Ministry of Education to provide high quality child care services and programs to children and families in our Early Years Learning and Child Care Centres, Licensed Home Child Care Premises, Before and After School programs and Onsite Event Child Care services across Toronto and the GTA.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, public relations, content creation and/or journalism.
- Minimum three to five years experience in communications, marketing or a related field preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
- Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Experience executing on communications strategy and plans.
- Excellent writing, editing, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience with planning and coordination of corporate events.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively part of a professional team, including Management and Executive Director
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills; an active listener who communicates respectfully and effectively.
- Strong time management, multitasking and organizational skills; ability to maintain coordination of all moving parts of a project with both a big picture view and an attention to detail
- Knowledge of social media best practices and trends
- Familiarity with editing and website maintenance; knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

**The main responsibilities of the job incumbent will include**:
**Maintain Coordination of Communication Products**
- Supports the development and execution of internal & external communications strategies, including formatting, proofreading, and finalizing all submissions.
- Collaborates with web developer to maintain and renew the website, coordinate new content and problem solve any issues related to the website.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor social media channels and Google reviews.
- Coordinate new content for social media to engage community and promote Network Child Care Services.
- Coordinates with photographer to ensure all child care program locations have updated photos for advertising and marketing.
- Coordinates accurate and timely submissions for various Request for Proposal (RFP) and Expressions Of Interest (EOI) requests. Liaises with management and staff to coordinate responses for RFP and EOI proposals which include vital information pertaining to the organization.
- Performs other related duties as required by the Executive Director.

**Events Coordination**
- Plans and coordinates for the organization’s annual Staff Symposium and Annual General Meeting (AGM). Recruits various organizations/partners to host workshops activities and key note speakers; oversees catering, maintains attendance of participants, distributes communication and invitations.
- Acts as EMCEE for live and virtual meeting, and manages events itinerary and flow. Develops and manages audio/visual needs for presentations.
- Acts as the primary contact for all incoming queries to provide child care at corporate events and Trade Shows. Drafts, all event related documentation, including a budget, written proposals, contracts, invoices, and satisfaction surveys.
- Coordinates appropriate staff to work at events, and participates in recruitment of staff for larger events.
- Coordinates and maintains the administrative duties to manage all documentation; registration process of children; schedules; information sheets and records staff attendance for payroll processing.
- Ensures inventory control for toys and equipment when providing child care at events/Trade Shows.

**Professional Development Events**
- Arranges catering for meetings, event and training workshops/sessions and confirms attendance numbers
- Assists to coordinate workshops for staff and affiliated Providers.
- Locates appropriate training opportunities/facilitators.
- Maintains updated training calendar and archives workshop files following training sessions.
- Updates website with training registration and coordinates zoom links for all training sessions.
- Creates and distributes certificates for all attendees of workshops within the organization.
