Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $63,718 to $88,178 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

The Government Services Integration Cluster is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Communications and Special Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering communications and special projects, including developing and maintaining content for websites, coordinating internal communications, and assisting with administrative tasks. They will have excellent communication and project coordination skills, with the ability to respond to ad hoc requests and provide support to senior management. What can I expect to do in this role?In this role, you will:
• coordinate project meetings/workshops and logistics, compile and distribute materials, take minutes, and ensure action items are communicated
• maintain project schedule in MS Project, monitor activities, and identify deliverables and timeline delays
• establish and maintain project documents, records/data, and coordinate /SharePoint/shared folders
• undertake communications on complex projects, ensuring time and quality targets are met
• lead and coordinate planning, design, and execution of special projects and events
• coordinate marketing for special events, including planning strategies and circulating materials
• manage all logistical components of events, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
• produce and update content for the intranet site, reflecting changes and additional programs
• maintain liaison with senior staff and management to expedite scheduling and resolution of issues
• respond to routine inquiries and correspondence, and maintain office files

How do I qualify?Knowledge of Communications and Marketing:You can demonstrate:
- resolving technical administrative, expenditure, and website preparation issues;
- supporting and identifying the needs of a wide range of individuals;
- responding to inquiries, and preparing communications materials and reports using word-processing, spreadsheet, database applications, desktop publishing, graphics packages, video editing software.

Technical Skills:You can demonstrate:
- web content management platforms and best practices to coordinate content management, set standards for consistency and manage the collection and creation of website content.
- IT hardware and software to troubleshoot and resolve technical administrative issues.
- creative design software programs and web resources to develop a range of graphic designs for cluster communications materials.
- administrative systems, procedures and processes (e.g., website maintenance, information and records management, correspondence tracking systems) to distribute and coordinate materials.

Consultation and Interpersonal Skills:You can demonstrate:
• an ability to communicate across all organizational levels
• strong relationship-building and advisory skills for coordinating communications programs and resolving issues

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:You have the ability to:
• organize and plan communications projects to meet deadlines
