Accounting Assistant/payroll Administrator

**Responsibilities**

As our Accounting assistant you will be responsible for:

- Assisting with day-to-day accounting functions across multiple entities
- Preparing payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payments to employees
- Preparing and filing government remittances for source deductions, HST, EHT and WSIB
- Preparing ROEs and T4s
- Assisting with onboarding of new staff
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reviewing and entering vendor invoices, deposits and preparing journal entries
- Preparing monthly financial statements and year-end working paper files
- Assisting accounting team with various other tasks as needed

**Qualifications**

The main qualifications for this role include:

- Post-secondary education in accounting and/or finance
- Minimum 2-3 years of related accounting experience
- Have previous experience with Quickbooks and Sage
- Have previous experience with processing payroll
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
