The Society offers programs and services to support persons with dementia, caregivers, and other family members and friends so they have the help they need today and have hope for the future. We work in collaboration with other health and community support providers to ensure quality across the system of care for all affected.

**JOB SUMMARY**

The **Philanthropy & Events Coordinator** advances the mission of the Alzheimer Society of PEI by driving engagement and revenue generation. This role focuses on cultivating strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and stakeholders while leading major events, fundraising campaigns, planned giving, and grant opportunities.

The Coordinator will identify innovative fundraising strategies, evaluate current practices, and stay informed of emerging trends in philanthropy to ensure ongoing success. With a proactive and personable approach, this position plays a key role in ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability and community impact.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the CEO and working as part of a team, the **Philanthropy & Events Coordinator** will achieve tangible outcomes through the following activities:
**General**
- Advance the vision, mission, and values of ASPEI
- Participate in meetings and planning sessions
- Represent ASPEI on local and national committees and working groups
- Represent ASPEI with media requests (TV, Radio, Newsarticles)
- Assist the ASPEI team in projects and strategic initiatives as needed
- Advise and support marketing and promotions activities

**- **Pursue opportunities for professional development to update and enhance competencies, contingent on the availability of organizational funding

**Planning & Innovative Strategy**
- Create and execute operational plans based on the Fund Development Strategy.
- Develop strategies ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor priorities.
- Regularly evaluate the plan and activities to adapt to evolving practices and trends, ensuring sustained effectiveness and innovation.
- Research and analyze emerging trends in nonprofit fundraising, including major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and third-party events.
- Develop and recommend new revenue-generating initiatives to diversify and strengthen the organization's funding streams.
- Leverage new and existing digital platforms to enhance giving opportunities and reach diverse audiences.

**Donor and Sponsor Stewardship**
- Establish and maintain effective stewardship practices to cultivate strong, lasting relationships with donors and corporate sponsors.
- Develop and utilize resources, such as donor recognition programs and stewardship activities and events, to demonstrate appreciation and accountability.

**Fundraising Campaigns & Signature Events Execution**
- Manage and execute key signature events, such as the **IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s**, and the annual **Alzheimer’s Awareness Conference**.
- Develop and monitor budgets for events and campaigns, ensuring financial goals are achieved or surpassed.
- Coordinate promotional activities, volunteer involvement, and sponsor outreach to maximize impact and visibility.
- Build relationships with corporate partners to secure sponsorships and expand corporate giving programs.
- Identify, plan, and launch new event opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and drive revenue growth.
- Lead and expand existing initiatives such as the direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns, and ongoing third-party events partnerships.
- Create resources and collateral (i.e. Sponsorship packages, case for support, social media key messaging)
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for events and campaigns.

**Grant Writing**

**Planned Giving and Major Gifts**
- Develop strategies and resources to grow planned giving and major gift programs, cultivating relationships with prospective donors and stakeholders.
- Work with the CEO, board members, and leadership to secure high-value gifts and sponsorships.
- Ensure appropriate recognition and follow-up with high-value donors.

**Community and Stakeholder Engagement**
- Act as a representative of the organization at community events and meetings to build awareness and foster partnerships.
- Engage stakeholders through clear communication and strategic storytelling that conveys the organization’s mission and impact.

**Data Management, Evaluation and Reporting**
- Development and execution of an evaluation plan for monitoring fund development initiatives and progress
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and sponsor records in the organization's CRM syst
