**Position Summary**

The role of the Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. The main responsibility is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. The Accounts Payable also provides a day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Enter Invoices into the accounting system & address concerns of Vendors enquiring on invoice payments
- Charge expense to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
- Monitor vendor accounts for discount opportunities
- Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts (e.g., capital assets amortization, prepayments, and loans)
- Reconcile billing discrepancies with vendors, and support the inventory receiving process
- Issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis of accounts and support year-end closing processes
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to team effort and completes other duties as required or assigned.
- Paying employees by receiving and verifying expense reports using company-specific accounting software
- Prepare month-end reconciliations & working papers in a timely manner
- Assisting other departments with equipment or product purchases, tracking assets and accounts for acquisition

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in accounting
- Minimum of 3 year of full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good working knowledge of accounting software
- Detail focused and strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work overtime when necessary
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
