We are currently recruiting for an **Events Coordinator** to join our team.The Events Coordinator at Listowel Golf Club is responsible for all aspects of the planning, coordination, and execution of activities related to all event bookings. This includes, but is not limited to weddings, conferences, meetings, receptions and holiday parties. The Events Coordinator is also expected to encourage new bookings to develop and expand the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage new external contacts to increase event bookings and revenue; provide prompt and detailed responses to all external event inquiries
- Assist in the development and implementation of new promotional and sales initiatives
- Monitor annual budget, revenue goals and expenses as it relates to event bookings
- Manage and continually monitor the overall facility schedule, including member non-member special events
- Negotiate contracts and book event space, coordinate food and beverage, and oversee set-up to meet expectations of the event organizer(s)
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with all primary event contacts through the pre-planning stages to event completion
- Oversee the special event delivery, be available to the onsite event contact (as needed) along with facility staff for issues that may arise
- Promptly seek feedback from event contact through follow up and ensure accurate invoice details prior to final invoice preparation and delivery
- Ensure all food and liquor costs are maintained at their agreed levels and that the correct profit margins are achieved
- Ensure compliance with provincial/territorial liquor legislations and regulations
- Schedules staff according to work load expectations, makes adjustments to business volume as necessary
- Responsible for opening and closing the clubhouse when necessary
- Responsible for managing handling cash and completing end of shift tasks
- Provides a professional image at all times

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as an Events Coordinator in the hospitality and or recreational industry
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company polices and procedures
- Experience planning large functions such as weddings, corporate parties and conferences
- Post-secondary education in Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Public Relations or related fields
- Previous work experience an asset

**Hours of work**:

- May be required to work extra hours during peak season
- May be required to work weekends depending
