Golf has been a tradition in Listowel since 1920, when a small group established the Listowel Golf & Country Club Limited. Today, our semi-private club strives to provide a unique and enjoyable experience from the moment you arrive. With attention to detail, we offer you the area’s finest golf product.
We are currently recruiting a Head Chef to join our Food & Beverage team. The Head Chef is responsible for providing food & beverage for all function outlets including tournaments, social events, dining room, concession, and beverage cart.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITLIES**:
- Organizing and coordinating all activities that relate to the kitchen and its service.
- Works with the Food & Beverage Manager to anticipate and plan for weekly food promotions and specials.
- Works with the Event Coordinator to anticipate and plan for weddings and upcoming events.
- Responsible for control of storing, issuing and transferring food and other inventory items.
- Manage monthly inventory and food cost determinations.
- Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of kitchen and storage area.
- Supervises and coordinates daily operation of kitchen and kitchen staff
- Assist in menu planning, preparation and pricing.
- Responsible for training of staff operating in the kitchen area.
- Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the kitchen staff.
- Responsible for care and equipment of small wares and equipment used by the kitchen staff
- Monitors food and labour cost control within the department.
- Reports to the General Manager.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- College diploma in Culinary Management or related program
- 5 years of experience in a related food environment
- Knowledge of food production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Communication skills (facilitation, listening, verbal, written, presentation)
- Well organized and able to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of volume cooking essential
