**Role**:
Located in Edmonton and reporting to a Director of CTS, this position provides strategic advice, assistance and information management to the Executive Director, Directors and CTS managers. This position is a key resource to the leadership team. The Project/Issues Coordinator is able to respond according to current and emerging issues, is able to integrate information from a variety of sources to keep the leadership team abreast on emerging issues, confirm status of projects and initiatives, and provide appropriate recommendations and solutions when required.

The Project/Issues Coordinator supports the leadership team to achieve the mandate, goals and operations of the department. This position ensures issues are identified, managed and resolved in an effective, integrated and pro-active manner.

When required, the CTS Project/Issues Coordinator works on behalf of the leadership team to resolve issues, including addressing issues directly, determining the level of priority, researching and coordinating supporting information, and ensuring appropriate action is taken to ensure issues are dealt with in an effective and consistent manner.

This position also provides technical, statistical, research and varying degrees of senior level support to the Directors relative to financial, human resource and project management functions as required.

This is the department’s primary resource to administer the structure and tracking for technology initiatives, prepare briefing notes, and to perform administrative functions for key committees and meetings.

Travel and overtime will be required of this role on an occasional basis.

This position is a key member of the Court’s Incident Management team that manages regular and emergency issues both during and outside of regular working hours, generates statistics and reports from the incident management tool, monitors SLA compliance, follows up on overdue items and recommends improvements.

The CTS Project & Issues Coordinator requires strong and demonstrated skills in:

- critical issue analysis, to compile information and recommend viable and effective strategic solutions;

- decision-making and professional judgement, to handle and make recommendations as required;
- problem resolution and negotiation, when faced with a variety of situations;
- critical thinking and problem solving, to analyze risks and make recommendations in line with strategic and business priorities;
- priority setting, to ensure multiple projects, issues, and assignments are managed and;
- detail oriented

The CTS Project & Issues Coordinator requires extensive and broad knowledge of:

- the structure of and technological issues affecting Alberta’s Courts; and
- Resolution and Court Administration Services’ business plan goals, strategic priorities, programs and resources in general, but especially relative to technology

**Qualifications**:
This position requires a two-year diploma in Project Management, Business Management, or Information Technology plus two years’ project administration experience.

Equivalencies considered as below:

- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or
- One-year certificate in Project Management plus three years’ experience in a project administration role or
- One-year certificate in Information Technology plus one year experience in a technology role and two years’ experience in a project administration role or
- Directly related project administration experience or education considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Experience/certification in ITIL will be an advantage.
