A project coordinator in the lighting industry will be responsible for managing and overseeing lighting upgrade projects from initiation to completion. They work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of LED lighting fixtures in the building. The job description for a project coordinator in the lighting field may include the following responsibilities:
Project Planning/Lighting Assessment: Collaborate with clients, sales team, and operation team to understand project requirements and develop a project execution plan for providing LED lighting retrofit projects of different sizes. This involves assessing lighting needs, providing lighting solutions, selecting appropriate fixtures, creating project schedules, and allocating manpower and resources.

Coordination and Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the project, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Facilitate effective communication, coordinate meetings, and ensure that all parties are aligned on project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Provide weekly updates to all stakeholders.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, including estimating costs for lighting fixtures, labor, and other project-related expenses. Monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle and make necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Procurement and Material Management: Identify lighting suppliers, source and procure lighting fixtures, and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites. Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory levels and resolve any issues related to product availability or quality.

Installation Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the installation of lighting systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other tradespeople to resolve any installation challenges that may arise.

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of lighting installations to ensure that they meet the required standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetics. Identify and address any deficiencies or issues, and work with the necessary parties to implement corrective measures.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, change orders, and progress reports. Generate regular reports on project status, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the original plan. Provide timely updates to stakeholders and management.

Project Closeout: Facilitate the final stages of the project, including conducting final inspections, resolving any outstanding issues, and obtaining client acceptance. Ensure proper documentation of project completion.

In addition to these core responsibilities, a project coordinator in the lighting field may also be involved in research and development activities, staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and energy efficiency standards to provide innovative lighting solutions.

Overall, the role of a project coordinator in the lighting industry requires strong organizational skills, attention to details, effective and proactive communication abilities, work well under stress, great customer service skills, technical knowledge of lighting fixtures and electrical industry as a whole, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The Project Coordinator-Lightning will be travelling and working on weekends occassionally.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
