L’Arche Edmonton is seeking an energetic and compassionate individual for the role of Fund Development Coordinator (40 hours a week). This role initiates, develops, and leads fundraising and associated communication strategies for L’Arche Edmonton. This role also coordinates grant writing and annual appeal portfolios.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration
- Collaborate with the Community Leader/Executive Director, the Board of Directors, other Coordinators of L’Arche Edmonton and/or other personnel as required.
- Participate in strategic planning, operational planning, and the budgeting process.
- Prepare and provide monthly progress reports to the Executive Director and Finance and Audit Committee.
- Develop development policies and guidelines which reflect ethical fundraising practices.
- Provide leadership and supervision to development personnel.

Fund Development
- Create and implement a multi-year development plan that increases revenues and awareness to support the strategic direction and mandate of L’Arche Edmonton which includes the following activities:

- Identify and cultivate corporate, community and individual donors with special attention paid to major gifts
- Grow the annual giving program, including mail campaigns, digital campaigns, third party initiatives, and special events
- Build robust donor recognition and stewardship processes and activities.
- Develop promotional tools and tactics which result in increased awareness of the L’Arche Edmonton mission and higher revenues
- Implement the development plan in accordance with ethical fundraising principles.
- Develop and manage timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out.
- Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved.
- Monitor trends in Canada, Alberta, the Edmonton Region, and the local community and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary.
- Oversee the administration of the donor mailing list(s) and database, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
- In conjunction with the Office Manager and Accountant, oversee the receipting process, including in-kind donations and related receipts.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ability to articulate the mission of L’Arche and the specific resource needs of L’Arche Edmonton.
- Creativity and a strong entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; outstanding writing skills
- Ability to provide leadership and management in the development and implementation of fundraising programs.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation affecting charities and the Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code of Imagine Canada.
- Understanding of communications, marketing, and public relations as they relate to supporting effective fundraising
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in developing donor relationships with foundations, service organizations, corporations, and individuals
- Knowledge and experience in the full fund development mix, including annual giving, events, major gifts, grants, and planned giving; experience in fundraising for capital projects is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in developing and implementing public relations, communications, and marketing strategies.
- Familiar with Salesforce (CRM)
