**Role**:
Reporting to the manager OLEP, The Official Languages in Education Programs (OLEP) Coordinator plays a significant role in implementing federal-provincial agreements that support francophone education and French language instruction in Alberta, and coordinates communications with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Information and Communication Management
- Manage OLEP Alberta website and Individual Teacher Bursary website content and updates in both English and French
- Respond to stakeholder inquiries related to OLEP funding, reporting and projects in both English and French
- Establish and maintain relations with federal, provincial/territorial representatives and Government of Alberta staff and stakeholders
- Provide French-English and English-French validation of documents translated for the branch

2. Coordinate the Ministry’s work relating to the federal government’s Action Plan for Official Languages to optimize federal funding to provincial stakeholders
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to complete federal report templates

3. Coordinate the branch’s role and responsibility in the Protocol for Agreements for Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction (Protocol) and
the Canada-Alberta Bilateral Agreement for Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction (Bilateral)
- Coordinate and compile information from OLEP funding recipient OLEP Commitment forms and Report forms to develop provincial action plans and reports

4. Provide issues management to support operational and project plan delivery
- Support internal and external stakeholders in meeting federal requirements related to Official Languages projects and funding
- Organize and track project statuses, reporting requirements and important deadlines
- Identify potential issues that may impact OLEP in Alberta and assist in risk management
- Provide consultation and support for issues identification and resolution
- Participate in pan-Canadian OLEP Committee meetings to present Alberta's positions and to move forward pan-Canadian negotiations on a Protocol agreement

5. Develop action requests, briefing materials, environmental scans, correspondence and other tasks as assigned to ensure that division and Ministry executive
representatives have appropriate input for decision making

**Qualifications**:
A university degree in a related discipline like Education as a major is preferred, plus 4 years of progressive related experience.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Advanced verbal and written communication in both English and French

**Assets**:

- Knowledge of francophone cultures and identities in a minority-language setting
- Experience with school and school system operations
- The ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities, organization and time management
- Awareness of francophone and French language education issues and developments
- Strong analysis, reasoning, judgment and problem-solving skills
- A highly collaborative approach and the ability to navigate complex relationships
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience teaching in the francophone education system, French immersion programming and/or French as a second language education is an asset
