**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Position Title**:Counter/Inside Sales Associate **Department**:Service, Sales

**Reports To: Counter Supervisor** **Work Location**: St. Albert

**Position Summary**:

**Key Responsibilities: (Responsibilities include but are not limited to)**
- Explain rental fees, policies & procedures and provide information about rented items, such as availability, operation or description.
- Prepare rental forms and contracts; obtain customer signature and other information as required.
- Collect deposit or payment or record credit charges by maintaining customer charge file daily and balancing daily sales receipts.
- Maintain daily contract file; update/call overdue list daily and inform Store Manager of overdue contracts.
- May assist customer with the loading and/or unloading of equipment as required.
- Monitor, control and prevent equipment, tools being overbooked, by using the daily report.
- Inventory retail sales merchandise and advise Store Manager of low levels of merchandise.
- Arrange showroom displays; keep shelves organized and clean; keep showroom clean.
- Provide support to Outside Sales which may include preparing quotes and processing orders.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Comply with company safety policies & procedures, and government legislation/regulations pertaining to Health, Safety & Environment.
- Provide input to the continuous improvement of business operations and the delivery of excellent customer service.
- Maintain product knowledge of all equipment/tools in order to maximize sales to current and potential customers.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Training/Certification**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Some post-secondary courses/training in customer service and sales

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in customer service and/or inside sales
- Previous experience in the equipment rental industry is desirable

**Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)**
- Knowledge of effective customer service and sales techniques
- Knowledge of equipment/tools used in the residential and commercial construction industry
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Proven relationship-building skills
- Attention to detail
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Proficient with computers, including order taking and contract administration

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 44 per week
