**Job Details**:
In this role, under the supervision, support, and coordination of the Head of Sales Canada and seasoned sales staff, the Technical Sales Specialist will be expected to build and manage a book of business through profitable sales with new Leads, Prospects, and existing Customers.

**Essential Functions Include**:

- Call on new Leads, Prospect, or Customers to secure appointments.
- Respond to incoming leads and phone calls.
- Guide new Leads, Prospect, or Customers to the correct Sigicom solution(s) addressing specific needs.
- Provide Leads, Prospect, or Customers with technical and commercial product information.
- Create and follow up on quotes.
- Maintain Leads, Prospect, or Customers relationships in Net Suite (maintain CRM platform).
- Actively plan, execute and participate in marketing activities like campaigns, trade shows, seminars, mailings, etc.
- Initiate sales campaigns/activities directly focusing on Leads, Prospect, or Customers.
- Maintain competitor data case, obtain **p**roduct / **f**eature / **b**enefit (PFB) knowledge of Competitor’s solutions.
- Travels domestically and internationally for training and/or provide product and Customer support, as needed.

**Other Functions Include**:

- Provide the first line of technical support to customers.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workplace.
- Adhere to company rules regarding attire during external functions and sales calls.

**Job Qualifications**:

- Prior experience with “technical/consultative” sales, and ideally some hands-on exposure to electronic equipment/systems and/or instrumentation.
- Good communication skills with no reservation of making cold calls over the phone and in person.
- Ideally a graduate of a relevant Bachelor’s degree program.
- Technical background is desirable with problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude.
- Ideally fully bilingual and able to provide technical support in English and French (though this is not required).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

**Working Environment**:

- Office working environment (approximately 60%).
- Travel to Leads, Prospect, or Customers appointments (approximately 35%).
- International travel - must have a valid passport
- Warehouse working environment (approximately 5%) of the time, with varying warehouse temperatures.
- Working hours are typically 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, with periodic early and late hours to accommodate both domestic and international time schedules. Weekend travel when required, prolonged deployments to Sweden when required.

**Other**:
Although support, training, cold calling, and prospecting are still required, the Technical Sales function is more geared towards key account/sales territory management. This position will be based out of our office in Ottawa, ON. Over time a much heavier travel schedule will be expected.
