Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is looking for a Business Line Manager - Rock Tools
Location: Chateauguay, QC, Lively or Mississauga, ON

Our constantly evolving offering of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for mining and rock excavation covers rock drilling, rock cutting, crushing and screening, loading and hauling, tunneling, quarrying and breaking and demolition. No matter the terrain, material or ground hardness - we aim to engineer solutions that make mining and rock excavation safer and more profitable. Bringing your experience and drive into the equation, you help us achieve our goals
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, support and develop Rock Tools sales including customer proposals and quotation creating together with local sales teams
- Collaboration with key members of Sales Area and Division to ensure goals are achieved
- Provide Rock Tools technical and commercial support directly to Sandvik external and internal customers
- Lead and develop a team in the Rock Tools sales area
- Accountable to both Sales Area and Division strategic objectives in Canada
- Develop regional Rock Tools business by working closely with customers and other key stakeholders
- Identify new business opportunities and collaborate actively with the business unit management to drive them forward
- Drive regional Rock Tools offering commercialization to meet local needs
- Responsible to Drive regional technical and commercial competence development across the sales area to meet the business growth targets and profitability.
- Monitor regional competitor and other relevant activities and continuously maintain a view on the respective Sandvik market share development
- Develop Rock Tools regional sales processes including product forecasting
- Active interaction and relationship management with customers, categorization and sales strategy creation
- Implement global strategies/initiatives into the product line
- Maintain a succession plan for key product line positions in the sales area
- Ensure compliance with Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety Policy and guidelines and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements throughout the sales area.
Required Competencies, Licenses, or Certificates
- Demonstrated leadership, people management skills and result oriented approach.
- Demonstrated team building and performance development skills
- Demonstrated ability to create and develop product strategies and plans.
- Creative approach to finding solutions to internal and external issues.
- Skills to analyze data from multiple viewpoints including market data, competitive offerings, and other information sources.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English. French proficiency considered an asset.
- Effective networking skills. Continuous interaction with people from other areas of the company -engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and sales teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
- Fast learning. You should be able to adapt easily to meet the rapidly evolving environment.
- Skills to manage product release related activities including testing, preparing documentation, demos, product launches, etc.
- Develop and manage pricing strategies together with sales and pricing functions for different categories.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and develop new ideas.
- Ability to understand customers’ needs to provide a competitive advantage
- Computer Literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport, domestic and international air travel required.
Experience and Education
- University Business Degree or Technical Diploma with relevant sales/business management experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience within the product line(s), sales and people management
- Requires an individual who has developed strong customer relationships and can provide proof through examples of those skills
- Ideally, Sandvik or industry-related experience
