**The opportunity**:
The GVF Group of Companies has an exciting new opportunity and is looking for a passionate **HR Coordinator** to lead alongside the Director of People and Culture. As a key part of the team, you will support all aspects of HR across the organization as we continue to grow beyond 170 employees including talent acquisition, professional development, and employee relations. You will hone and advance the people and culture strategy of the GVF Group of Companies and be a brand ambassador of our culture. GVF is a family company; therefore, it’s imperative that you embody the company values and align with the mission, vision, and corporate objectives of the GVF Group.

What you’ll do: *
- Prepare letters and documentation for employees, including job descriptions, updated employment agreements, letters of employment, etc.
- Assist with developing and administering various HR programs including hiring programs, performance management, employee satisfaction, health and safety, etc.
- Build strong relationships with employees and managers across the company
- Respond to various employee inquiries in a timely manner with confidentiality and professionalism
- Provide coaching, confidential guidance and counsel to managers and employees around people and culture policies, practices, health and safety and performance management - it’s key for HR to listen, respond and resolve matters well
- Lead the communication and compliance around company policies and guidelines
- Maintain and update the employee handbook to ensure company policies and guidelines are kept up to date with current legislation
- Be a cultural ambassador supporting leaders and employees in advancing the culture and lived out values of GVF
- Provide training and support to current and new employees joining the organization
- Help organize and participate in team building, engagement, and social events
- Actively and accurately maintain the HR database (BambooHR)
- Process benefits enrolments, changes, and termination of coverage for group benefits and RRSP’s
- Work seamlessly with finance ensuring that information is accurately provided to payroll
- Complete various reporting as required, including employment related surveys and questions from government agencies
- Support the Director of People and Culture and assist with projects

**Your background includes**:

- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or equivalent
- 2+ years of proven experience in an HR role with a strong recruitment background
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with HR systems - BambooHR is an asset
- Knowledge of HR processes and best practices and familiarity with the Canada Labour Code
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Solid problem solving skills
- Proactive multitasker, with ability to forward think
- A positive can-do attitude
- Passion for helping people

**Working with us**:
This is a permanent, full-time in-person position that will be based out of our head office on Savage Drive in Cambridge, Ontario. Typical work hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. There may be times where you will be required to work outside of these standard hours. In addition to a competitive starting wage and vacation, you’ll also be eligible for generous benefits and RSP matching.
