skilled professionals, Armour is presently seeking a **Hotel Accounts Payable Specialist** to join our
growing team from our downtown Halifax location.
Reporting to the Hotel Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with the Hotel
Accounting staff and Management teams at the Delta Hotel by Marriot Dartmouth, and Muir
Hotel in Downtown Halifax ensuring bills are entered and paid in a timely manner and in
accordance with vendor payment terms.
**As Account Payable Specialist, you will**:
- Complete data entry to ensure all accounts payable invoices and check requests are
recorded in compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Coordinate accounts payable payment runs upon approval.
- Maintain accounts payable files by filing relevant documentation.
- Identify and coordinate a response to invoice discrepancies with possible solutions in a
timely manner.
- Examine vendor statements for past-due invoices and collaborates with vendors to
maintain accounts up to date.
- Respond to queries from vendors
- Ensure all accounts payable files are kept up to date.
- Fill out and submits new vendor set-up request forms.
- Assist Hotel Controller in preparing monthly accrual estimates.
- Provide payment and coding assistance to hotel staff, upon request.
- Other similar and related duties as required
**What we’re looking for**:
- University degree or technical diploma with a focus in finance or accounting
- Minimum 1-2 years related experience
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- A commitment to confidentiality
- Effective organizational and time management skills with a focus on achieving deadlines
- Prior experience in the following industries is considered an asset: hospitality,
construction, leasing, property management.
