**Position Purpose summary**:
Supervised Access is multifaceted program that offers an important service to families in Frontenac and Lennox and Addington counties who are experiencing high conflict within their custody and access. Supervised Access is supported by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and allows children to visit with their non-residential parent in a safe, secure, child-focused, and neutral setting.

**Accountabilities**:
**Client Management**
- Supervise family visits and exchanges according to Court Orders or other relevant agreements
- Process intakes of new families in the coordinator’s absence
- Maintain safety of program, participants, staff, and volunteers
- Facilitate child orientations for new families, and second orientations for highly resistant visiting children

**Administrative**
- Assist with preparation of observation reports and letters, and forward to Coordinator for approval
- Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings
- Complete minutes for staff meetings and Advisory committee meetings
- Prepare weekly direct service updates for staff regarding all families.
- Supervise the collection and maintenance of client information/files including data entry into ministry database
- Assist with the management of the visitation schedule
- Prepare family files in preparation for direct service each week

**Site Maintenance**
- Key holder and responsible for the opening and closing of the Centre during direct service
- Supervise the set-up and dismantling of sites located in Kingston and Napanee
- Maintain safety of program participants through careful set up of sites
- Maintain inventory of equipment and toys for each site

**Safety and Security**
- Ensure safety of program participants within the Supervised Access Best Practices
- Document Critical Incidents and forward to Coordinator
- Know and comply with all health and safety regulations

**Qualifications**:
**Working Conditions**:

- This is a permanent full-time position; some +afternoon, early evening and weekend work is required.
- Working environment is typically in the office, program room in generally agreeable conditions.
- Supervisor will be required to travel to the Centre for shifts
- Ability to lift to 30 pounds for set up and dismantling of equipment at each site.
- This job requires reaching, bending, and stooping frequently, working in a standing position for periods of

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in social services from an accredited university/college; social services, early childhood education, family and youth preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certified, Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification would be an asset
- Updated CPIC
- Bilingual in English and French
- Valid license and access to a vehicle

**Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements**
- Minimum two years’ experience working in child/family setting
- Knowledge regarding the impact of separation and divorce on families, particularly children
- Experience in conflict resolution and conflict management
- Knowledge of broad range of social issues affecting families including mental illness, substance abuse, family dynamics, separation/divorce, abuse, domestic violence, and child development
- Experience providing administrative support

**Skills and Capabilities**:

- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality with a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility
- Exhibit good listening skills, have strong oral/written communication
- Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening as required
- Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities

**Additional Requirements**: First Aid & CPR Certification Bilingual in English and French preferred - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification would be an asset
